Qualifications:

  • 2+ years' experience operating as a construction/bridge welder.
  • Current and valid certification for " and lower required. AWS D1.1 and D1.5 certification preferred, or the practical field knowledge to obtain certificates.
  • Knowledge of construction site best practices and safety procedure.
  • Must pass pre-employment DOT physical/drug screening.
  • Valid drivers license with clean driving record (No major traffic violations, tickets or accidents for the last 5 years.) preferred.


Responsibilities:
  • Operator angle grinders and other small tools to prepare parts for welding.
  • Read and interpret standard welding notations.
  • Select proper materials, measure and cut to specifications.
  • Field - Field install welds, including weld pile, bearings, SIP decking and other bridge structural elements.
  • Shop - Fabricate and repair buckets, blades, trench boxes, vehicle parts, and specialized tools.
  • Select proper fillers for jobs based on previous experience or project instructions.
  • Coordinate with field and/or shop for required schedule of repairs.
  • Operator welding truck and maintains the materials, tools and equipment on the truck.
