Qualifications:
- 2+ years' experience operating as a construction/bridge welder.
- Current and valid certification for " and lower required. AWS D1.1 and D1.5 certification preferred, or the practical field knowledge to obtain certificates.
- Knowledge of construction site best practices and safety procedure.
- Must pass pre-employment DOT physical/drug screening.
- Valid drivers license with clean driving record (No major traffic violations, tickets or accidents for the last 5 years.) preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Operator angle grinders and other small tools to prepare parts for welding.
- Read and interpret standard welding notations.
- Select proper materials, measure and cut to specifications.
- Field - Field install welds, including weld pile, bearings, SIP decking and other bridge structural elements.
- Shop - Fabricate and repair buckets, blades, trench boxes, vehicle parts, and specialized tools.
- Select proper fillers for jobs based on previous experience or project instructions.
- Coordinate with field and/or shop for required schedule of repairs.
- Operator welding truck and maintains the materials, tools and equipment on the truck.
