Job Details
This is a part time, seasonal, temporary position providing administrative assistance to the Summer Camp Directors and Full Time Staff in the day-to-day operation of Youth Programs various summer camp locations. This position is based out of the Youth Programs department in the Garris Building in Fred Fletcher Park.
* Understand the daily operations of camp programs at camp site locations.
* Provide outstanding customer service when assisting the public through various communication methods to parents, participants, and City of Raleigh personnel.
* Be familiar with camp program schedules and departmental operations.
* Help maintain and clean facility as needed. Assist in set up and cleanup of camp activities such as art kits, science kits, inventory supplies etc.
* Assist in administrative tasks related to camp programs.
* Provide feedback regarding program goals and objectives.
* Distribute promotional and marketing information.
* Deliver equipment as needed.
* Candidate must be at least 18 years of age and have experience working in a customer service setting.
* Professional oral and written communication skills.
* High level of motivation, flexibility, self-direction and organization.
* Ability to take a strong leadership role, address problems quickly and effectively based on policies and procedures.
* Ability to work as a team player and multi task duties from multiple supervisors.
* Experience in a recreation setting a plus.
* This position requires the ability to move around and be able to lift at least 30 lbs
* Ability to obtain City Driving permit
Must be available:
* April-Late May- Camp preparation- 10-15 hours/week (Optional if available-flexible schedule)
* Late May-Mid June- Camp preparation and staff training- 20-30 hours/week
* Camp dates: June 17- August 16, 2024 (except June 19th and July 4th) 40+ hours/week
* Mandatory meetings and required trainings will begin mid-May (may occur day, evenings, or weekends)
Shift times are flexible. Based off availability Monday-Friday.
