Job Title Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) Job Description Cape Fox Shared Services is seeking an experienced Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to work in our corporate office in Manassas. This position reports to the corporate FSO / Director of Contracts. The AFSO supports both collateral level security programs and special access programs. The AFSO also develops security plans, procedures, and instructions; enhances the ongoing security awareness and education program; maintains excellent working relationships with government agencies; and assures compliance with all government and company security regulations. The AFSO oversees day-to-day security execution of all security operations including:
Personnel clearance processing to include: nominations, tracking, indoctrinations, reporting, debriefs; daily use of personnel clearance data systems (JPAS/DISS and Access Commander)
Guide employees in the use of e-QIP
Inspections and audits
Create and update security plans, procedures, and instructions
Enhance and participate in active security awareness and education programs
Secondary to Industrial Security, the AFSO would assist the Contracts Department with workload
Travel Requirements 0 - 10% Salary Grade Job Requirements Bachelors degree in a field related to security or information systems desired
Ability to maintain an active Top-Secret security clearance
Experience at a contractor organization conducting special access and industrial security operations for the U.S. DoD or U.S. intelligence community
Working knowledge of the NISPOM, ICDs, and associated Executive Orders
Significant experience with the DCSA Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) / DISS
Knowledge of OPSEC procedures and application of OPSEC to Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU) information
Proficient in Microsoft applications
Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
**Recommended Qualifications**
Two or more years of experience as an AFSO / Security Specialist to include:
Personnel Clearances in the NISP
JPAS/DISS Virtual Training
NISP Reporting Requirements
Visits and Meetings in the NISP
