General Purpose
This position is mainly responsible for picking up litter in the parks on foot. A variety of maintenance tasks including but not limited to cleaning bathrooms, addressing vandalism, and managing vegetation on a routine basis.

Essential Job Functions
- Assist in the collection of refuse in the park system;
- Assist in the maintenance of turf care to include, mowing, trimming, seeding, aerating;
- Clean restrooms regularly. This includes sweeping/mopping, restocking supplies, wiping down all surfaces including all sinks, urinals, and toilets.
- Assist in the lay out, painting and maintenance of all athletic fields;
- Assist in removing graffiti and addressing vandalism in the parks;
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of work completed;
- Assist in the maintenance of playgrounds;
- Assist with removal of encampments in accordance with Outreach and Removal Policies set forth by the City of Burlington.
- Be a park advocate, which includes providing excellent customer feedback, to notifying park supervisors if undesirable activity, damage, excessive littering etc. exists within a park;
- High level of customer service in a public atmosphere;
- Able to work efficiently on an independent basis;
- Assist in special events;
- Support volunteer services in the parks;
- Attend mandatory trainings and meetings;
- Assist in other job tasks as necessary.

- Ability to work on your feet all day is necessary in a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate power equipment, including push mowers, string trimmers and small hand tools.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Ability to perform routine and basic maintenance on grounds maintenance equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively to both public and staff.
- Ability to work well with others and individually.
