**Job Overview:**

The **Material Handler/Shipping/Receiving Clerk** is responsible for pulling and getting material ready for production, maintaining, and managing stock in the warehouse and to prepare outgoing merchandise from Finished Goods for shipping. They are responsible for meeting all customer and MCC requirements in a timely manner.

**Role and Responsibilities:**

* Able to learn company specialized software and perform tasks within the system

* Receives inventory and distributes raw material/supplies used in the production operations.

* Looks for alternative means to fulfill the requirements of a production job when the requested materials are not available

* Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.

* Weighs, bands, and/or shrink-wraps orders or other items for shipment.

* Restocks finished goods from production, pulling finished goods from stock for shipment.

* Checks shipments; labels and makes packing list and applies as necessary.

* Stacks boxes and cores and stocks items received in appropriate areas.

* Following 6S: labels items for easy identification, keeps warehouse clean and organized, etc. Maintains Kan Ban programs

* Performs semi-annual physical inventory.

* Ship miscellaneous items, dies, material etc.

* Receive and deliver UPS/FED EX.

* Load and unload trucks.

* Keep skid and carton area clean and organized, replenishing or removing items as necessary.

* Able to learn inventory process for staging areas, Work in Progress, Kan Ban items and finished goods

* May be required to perform other related duties as required or assigned by supervisor

**Qualifications and Education Requirements:**

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* 13 years shipping/receiving or warehouse experience preferred.

**Preferred Skills:**

* Must be a team-oriented employee with strong interpersonal and communication skills

* Flexible in relations with others and able to adjust to continuous change.

* Able to lift up to 40 lbs. May be required to sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to work overtime and flexible shifts. Experience working with computerized inventory systems preferred.

* Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding business environment.

* Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

* Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions in English, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

* Strong initiative, problem solving and resourcefulness

**Physical Demands:**

Works in a manufacturing environment and will be required to wear hearing, foot, and/or other personal protective equipment while performing duties in a manufacturing setting. May, on a continuous basis, stand for a long period of time and stoop and kneel frequently. Some walking and lifting and/or move up to 40 lbs. may be required. Vision: close vision, distance and color vision to distinguish color variations, peripheral and depth perception as well as the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to loud. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Must be able to work overtime as required by workload and customer mandated deadlines.
