No Remote Seeking a **Raw Materials Buyer (Consumer Goods)** for our consumer products client located in **Fort Lauderdale, Florida**. **Overview:**
The Raw Materials Buyer will perform all necessary functions related to purchasing raw materials for production. This includes but is not limited to purchasing raw materials and monitoring the shipment and receipt of goods to ensure they arrive on time and in proper condition to meet production requirements; analyzing consumption to determine optimal inventory levels to maintain; adjusting safety stock levels accordingly; meeting with existing and new vendors to discuss market conditions, pricing, new opportunities, etc. and to develop and build upon relationships; perform other duties as assigned. The position reports to the Global Purchasing Manager.
**Responsibilities:**
* Analyze raw material inventory and consumption on a daily basis to ensure levels properly support current and future production requirements.
+ Create and send purchase orders to vendors as necessary.
+ Confirm purchase orders will arrive on time for production, follow up with vendors for all shipping details, and track shipments until material is delivered.
+ Identify problematic items/shortages and seek out solutions to ensure production is uninterrupted.
* Know current market conditions and use the knowledge to make strategic purchasing decisions.
* Maintain and build partnerships with vendors.
+ Engage and meet frequently with to discuss markets, pricing, availability, new opportunities, etc.
* Review and adjust safety stock values to ensure they align with current usage.
* Update and maintain pricing and source list.
* Attend weekly production meetings with Planning, Production, and Customer Service and provide information regarding the status of raw materials.
* Address issues that arise and seek out solutions/identify and execute opportunities to improve efficiency.
* Comply with Purchasing policies and guidelines.
* Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
**Requirements:**
* Bachelors degree and 5+ years experience in procurement / SCM
* 3+ years experience in a buyer role, preferably raw materials for a consumer goods organization
* Experience in production planning, vendor management, inventory management
* Excellent computer skills - MS Office / Excel / Inventory Mgmt systems
* Bilingual Spanish / English strongly preferred
**BASE SALARY OF $65K - $75K DOE PLUS EXCELLENT BENEFITS**
