Application window: deadline to submit applications is Saturday April 27th, 2024 Summary The Social Media & Marketing Assistant will be responsible for enhancing the Museum's online presence, engaging our audience, promoting special events, and other organizational initiatives at both locations. This position blends creativity and technical skills to support the execution of marketing campaigns aimed at engaging guests and local communities to advance our non-profit mission. They expand the Museum's reach and market penetration through effective collaboration with external partners, influencers, and sponsors. The Social Media & Marketing Assistant is a member of the Marketing department reporting to the Director of Marketing and works closely with the Senior Content Producer, Content Coordinator, Marketing Manager, and inter-departmentally with Curatorial, Corporate Events, Visitor Services, and Education.Organization Founded in 1994 on the former Lowry Air Force Base in east Denver's historic Lowry Field neighborhood, Wings Over the Rockies is a non-profit community organization dedicated to unlocking dreams of flight through exhibits, local events, and educational programming. We are Colorado's premier Air & Space Museum having been recognized by CNN Travel as one of their 20 Best aviation museums in the world. Social Media Assist in creating, curating and scheduling social media content to increase brand awareness and engagement across various platforms such as, but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and ThreadsAssist in monitoring social media channels for trends, discussions, and opportunities to join relevant conversationsAssist in fostering community engagement by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries and mentions in a timely and professional manner that stays within the brand's voiceTrack and analyze the performance of social media campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for improvement Content Creation Collaborate with the marketing team and cross-departmentally to create compelling and visually appealing content for various channelsCapture and edit photos and videos during museum events, exhibitions, and behind-the-scenes activitiesWrite and edit copy for social media posts, blogs, newsletters, and other marketing/museum materials Campaign/Event Assistance Assist in planning and executing social media content to promote marketing campaigns at Wings' events at both locationsAdvertise membership programs, educational initiatives, and location hours/closures on social media, Wings' website, and by notifying necessary media outletsSupports the Marketing Manager with print production including ensuring marketing collateral, lobby and digital graphics are displayed correctly and meets timeline required at both Wings' locations Collaboration & Community Engagement Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement strategies to engage the local community Act as a liaison between the Museum and local businesses (e.g. hotels) to foster partnerships and collaborations Post Wings events to community calendarsWork closely with other departments to gather information and content for marketing purposes Analytics & Reporting Use analytics tools to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports on social media and marketing performanceIdentify opportunities for optimization and growth based on data analysisAssist with monthly data reports for social media Working Conditions Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum operates in an 80-year-old aircraft hangar. Requirements Candidates will be required to provide a portfolio sample with two or three professional examples of social media and/or video content they've created or helped produce4-year Bachelor's degree in Marketing, communications, or a related fieldMinimum of three (3+) years experience in social media and marketingStrong background in social media coupled with marketing experienceKnowledge of SEO digital marketing including social media; experience using social scheduling platforms preferredProficient with Adobe Creative Cloud, e.g. Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, After Effects, etc.Experienced with WordPress CMSHighly proficient with Microsoft Office 365 suite and Google WorkspaceStrong computer and technological experience, confidence learning new software applicationsPhenomenal written, phone, and verbal communication skillsPublic speaking and community marketing experienceProficiency with graphic design tools and video editing softwareFamiliarity with analytics tools and data-driven decision-makingDemonstrated experience with storyboarding and concepting multi-media projectsMust be detail-oriented with strong editing, writing, and researching abilitiesStrong organizational, planning, and project management skills Self-motivated, outcome-oriented individual with strong interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and with variety of diverse teamsAble to manage multiple projects, prioritize work, and meet deadlinesEthical and reliable with a positive demeanor and proactive outlookFamiliarity with the mission of Wings Museum and a passion for aviation/aerospaceOn-camera talent is a plus!
