Overview:

Under the leadership of the Assistant Vice President of Patient Cares Services and the Director of Nursing Performance Improvement , Nursing Performance Improvement Manager the will assist in strengthening the departments hospital-wide quality outcomes, reporting, and improvement activities. S/he will independently develop and manage programs to comply with an increasing number of internal and external reporting mandates and improvement initiatives.The role of the Improvement encompasses the knowledge base to guide and mentor front line nursing staff in their role in driving quality patient outcomes. Close collaboration with the Patient Care Managers and the interdisciplinary team in identifying performance improvement.In addition, as a nurse leader the individual must be a role model that represents the nursing profession and is ready to assume additional responsibilities to safe guard patient safety and ensure a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities:

Dependently collaborates with inpatient unit-based leaders throughout BCHS to provide leadership and program management for unit-based team initiatives. This includes working with clinical frontline staff and leaders to design and implement measurable and scalable improvement initiatives throughout the project life cycle: i.e. from project selection and scope through implementation of a plan to establish new processes, monitor/analyze data results, and sustain associated improvements as well as facilitate unit-based team meetings.Coaches and disciplines staff as needed.Ensures compliance with standards of regulatory agencies, including The Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and New York State and the New York City Department of Health.Identifies methods for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data needed for management and clinical decisions.Assist in development of a comprehensive performance improvement Patient Care Service Plan.Guide Patient Care managers/Unit Leadership in the revision of structure and process standards yearly and as modifications evolve.Ensures compliance with standards of regulatory agencies, including The Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and New York State and the New York City Department of Health

Qualifications:

New York RN Licensure Current Registration

Membership in Professional Organization

Quality certification within one year of hire
