POSITION PROFILE:
The food runner assists the server in running food from the kitchen to dining room in fulfillment of the order. They may also assist the server in presenting the food to the guest at their table. Food runners must be organized, timely and efficient in the execution of their duties They strive to model the Pursell core values in the completion of their work
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
Communicate with each part of the kitchen to ensure what types of food need to be prepared such as salad, grilled items, etc.
Be confident and knowledgeable in timing of orders to make sure they flow from the kitchen to the guest in a timely manner and in the correct order
Frequently communicating with the server to ensure accuracy of the order
Coordination of food by table so all guests served at once.
May be responsible for completing garnishes for plating
Ensure quality and accuracy of food before leaving the kitchen
Assist with monitoring table to maintain excellent service including refreshing water, removing plates, providing additional cutlery, etc.
Performing all other duties as directed
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent GED preferred
At least 6 months prior restaurant experience preferred
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work well under pressure
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor
Be efficient, detail-oriented, and courteous.
Solid communication skills including listening skills
Be able to work a flexible schedule
Be task-driven
Ability to take and follow direction
