Cryptanalytic Computer Scientists solve complex problems, test innovative approaches, research new solutions, and apply computer science expertise to develop cryptanalytic capabilities and techniques to exploit cryptographic systems.RequirementsESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:* As a Cryptologic Computer Scientist, you will identify and solve complex technology problems. Apply and adapt theoretical principles to develop new software and/or hardware solutions.* Will be responsible for cryptologic design, development, delivery, and operation solutions to hard cryptologic computer science problems within a scientific framework, solutions may arise in the forms of forensics and attack attribution, protection of critical networks, active systems warnings, and indicators, active penetration into target systems, knowledge discovery of passive and active systems, or other cryptologic computer science mission support.SECURITY CLEARANCE: TS/SCI- willing to submit to a polygraph.QUALIFICATIONS:* All degrees must be in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics (including Applied Math); or a related field (i.e., other Engineering or Math) with at least one programming and at least four upper-level math classes (Calculus and above).* Relevant experience must be in a computer science area.LEVEL 1:* Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience or;* Associate's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is related to the position.LEVEL 2:* Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience or;* Master's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience or;* Doctoral degree plus 2 years of relevant experience or;* Associate's degree plus 7 years of relevant experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is related to the position.LEVEL 3:* Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of relevant experience or;* Master's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience or;* Doctoral degree plus 4 years of relevant experience or;* Associate's degree plus IO years of relevant experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is related to the position.LEVEL 4:* Bachelor's degree plus 11 years of relevant experience or;* Master's degree plus 9 years of relevant experience or;* Doctoral degree plus 7 years of relevant experience or;* Associate's degree plus 13 years of relevant experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is related to the position.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:* Previous experience in one or more of the following (designing/developing/using/evaluating mathematical models, methods, and/or techniques (e.g., algorithm development) to study issues and solve problems, engineering (electrical or computer), and/or high-performance computing.WORK ENVIRONMENT:* 8-hour shifts or as required by the customer.MLS is committed to equal employment opportunity without regard to race, color, ethnicity, national origin, sex, pregnancy, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, religion, disability, military/veteran status, or any other characteristic or condition protected by federal, state, or local laws.
