Summary:
* Performs production quality assurance testing in accordance with ISO 9001/14001 requirements following Axalta Test Methods, work instructions and standard operating procedures using laboratory instrumentation and equipment to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.
* Primary responsibility is to pigeonhole non-batch related support testing into a single role on day shift so that QCS's may focus more tightly on production batches and laboratory throughput.
* Once fully trained and under certain circumstances fill in as a QCS or support other E-Shift functions (calibrations, maintenance of analytical instrumentation).
* Role integrates the skills for paying attention to detail with demonstrating a sense of urgency in safely performing job functions.
Job Description:
* Perform laboratory tests and evaluate product to ensure compliance with quality control specifications.
* Weighing and spraying
* Bending and lifting various container sizes weighing up to 50 lbs. to perform testing requirements.
* Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and facilities.
* Maintain safety standards and thorough understanding of site procedures.
* Perform basic computer skills for various programs and equipment.
* Manage hazardous waste according to site policy, area specific procedures and RCRA training.

* Material weigh-outs
* Tank capacity checks
* Reagent synthesis
* Pre-load checks (RM)
* Spray booth maintenance
* Quality paperwork (CoA/CoC)
* Spray crater panels
* Handle RCRA hazardous waste for disposal
* Total Organic Carbon determinations
* Instrument calibrations
* Amine value titrations
* NCO titrations
* Acid value titrations
* Raw material characterization
* First can/Last can batch spray-outs
* Restock lab supplies.
* Compressed gas bottle management
* Grind gauge determinations
* Retained sample collection and management.
Requirements/Qualifications:
* High School diploma with some collegiate laboratory science course work preferred.
* Chemistry degree a major plus
* Ability to learn area processes and procedures.
* Ability to learn function-specific information systems.
* Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation/equipment capabilities and controls
* Skills to perform basic math functions with attention to detail.
* Ability to successfully complete Farnsworth-Munsell color test
* Ability to safely operate laboratory instrumentation/equipment.
* Ability to recognize, address, and perform basic problem-solving.
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of the organization both orally and in writing.
* Ability to work in a self-managing team environment.
* Ability to prioritize and adapt quickly to changing demands.
