What Youll Be Doing

Cadmus seeks a motivated professional to help lead analytical capabilities that drive infrastructure investments toward more inclusive and equitable outcomes. The Urban Planning Specialist will play a pivotal role supporting clients with large, place-based technical assistance design and delivery to communities across the country.

This could include building the capacity of communities to design and deliver transportation reconnection projects by removing, retrofitting, or mitigating transportation facilities like highways or rail lines that create barriers to community connectivity, including to mobility, access, or economic development. The Urban Planning Specialist will oversee a team of consultants to provide data analysis, research, and tools to prospective and current recipients of large federal infrastructure grants. Ultimately, the work will support local governments and community-based organizations in identifying and advancing community reconnection efforts, advising on resources and strategic partnerships, and undertaking and completing planning studies.

Responsibilities:
  • Leverage urban analytical skills to support both project delivery and the development of new business.
  • Provide direction to and oversight of internal and external teams in order to develop high-quality, client-ready materials, including tools and templates for local communities.
  • Execute tasks assigned by project managers in a timely fashion and according to instruction.
  • Foster successful, productive, and sustained client relationships.
  • Contribute to the development of Cadmus urban analytical and technical assistance capabilities.
  • Provide technical support to the development of proposals.
  • Help develop business and promote Cadmus brand through conference and journal submissions and presentations.
  • Occasional travel may be required.


Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 8-10 years of experience in urban planning, urban analytics, public policy, transportation, and/or working with disadvantaged communities. A masters degree in one of the related areas will substitute for the two years of work experience.
  • Technical expertise in urban analysis and civic technology, including applied data analysis (e.g. neighborhood indicators, community impact analysis, community data access, online participation/engagement, and scenario planning and visualization)
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Exceptionally strong analytical skills and expertise with relevant tools, such as ArcGIS, Envision Tomorrow, Python, R, Excel, Tableau, and spatial statistics
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills (you will interact with employees, consultants, partners, clients, subcontractors, and vendors)
  • Strong writing skills, particularly for communicating complex, technical material in a clear, succinct, and readable manner
  • Candidates must be able to obtain a security clearance, public trust, or suitability, as needed - requires US Citizenship

Based on eligibility and job status, Cadmus offers an excellent benefits package to include: medical, dental, vision, company paid disability and life insurance, 401(k) program, paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, voluntary time off (VTO), tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance program, other optional benefits and various bonus programs.

The minimum starting salary for this position is $85,000. The actual salary may be higher and will be determined by several factors, including relevant work experience, education, skills, and market competitiveness.
