**You Have:**
* The desire to learn new roles and grow with the company
* Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
* Ability to use simple specifications, dials, and gauges to regulate electricity and water flow.
* High School Diploma or GED
* 1 year of industrial or manufacturing experience to include operating heavy mobile equipment
* Flexibility to work a rotating 12 hr shift, days, nights and weekends
* Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged sitting, standing or walking, balance, bend, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs.
* Ability to work in cramped quarters, heights, extreme temperature conditions.
**Your Purpose:**
Primarily responsible for maintaining and stocking consumables for the Furnace, general housekeeping duties (includes 5S and cleaning), assisting other furnace operators as needed and may be responsible for collecting and running slag samples.
**Your Work:**
* Unload trucks and stock supplies and/or consumables.
* Operate/stock temperature and sampling device used to take temperatures, oxygen readings and steel samples.
* May also take care of slag pots/pits as needed (i.e clean out pits with shovels, water, et).
* Assist in maintaining refractory (patching or gunning).
* Maintain runner/tap hole.
* Build and add electrodes.
* Record data in production systems.
* Communicate with team members.
