Security Guard

Grandville High School and Grandville Middle School

8 hours/day, student days (Afternoon and Evening)

2023-2024 School Year

Qualifications:

* Ability to communicate effectively, professionally and courteously with students, staff and parents.

* Ability to be firm with students, consistent with rules, yet earn the respect of students and shows respect daily.

* Ability to work independently, is organized and uses time effectively.

* Shows initiative but is also willing to take direction.

* Ability to promote student behavior and attitude responsibilities by serving as a role model.

Responsibilities:

* Patrol and monitor all indoor and outdoor school facilities to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff and the security of the facility.

* Ensure a smooth traffic flow of students through the hallways.

* Assist with supervision during lunch periods and afternoon dismissals.

* Supervise afterschool activities

* Remove disruptive students from class when needed.

* Assist in emergencies situations.

* Assist visitors with directions, secure proper identification and escort unauthorized visitors to exits.

* Adhere to federal statutes and regulations, Michigan school law, construction codes, State Board of Education regulations, and Board of Education policies.

* Participate in in-services and workshops appropriate to responsibilities.

* Other duties as assigned.
