The Warehouse Operations Consultant will play a pivotal role in enhancing the Defense Logistics Agency's (DLA) distribution network's efficiency, reliability, and auditability by focusing on the evaluation, risk assessment, design, and optimization of business processes controls during DLA's modernization to the Dematic Warehouse Execution System (WES) and Equipment Control System (ECS) 2.0. This role requires a blend of technical/operational expertise and strategic insight into automated material handling systems and warehouse execution systems, specifically within the context of DLA and Department of Defense (DoD) operations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive risk assessments to identify impacts of WES/ECS 2.0 on end-to-end processes.
- Participate in mandated testing, including user acceptance testing (UAT) for WES/ECS 2.0.
- Assess the Requirements Traceability Matrix in relation to WES/ECS 2.0 and ensure alignment with DLA's strategic goals.
- Collaborate with DLA stakeholders to design and develop internal controls, ensuring efficient and secure operations.
- Provide strategic consulting to optimize the integration and functionality of WES/ECS 2.0 within DLA's distribution network.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience with DLA warehouse business processes and operations, preferably with experience designing or evaluating internal controls for associated processes/ops.
- Experience with warehouse execution systems. Automated material handling systems and GOTS solutions experience a plus.
- Familiarity with SAP, and Dematic supply chain solutions strongly preferred.
Location: New Cumberland PA (on site government)
Period: May 2024 - April 2025 with options.
