ABOUT WOODLAND JOB CORPS CENTER

The Woodland Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas: Electrical Wiring, Carpentry, Building Construction Technology, Culinary Arts, Advanced Training - Culinary Arts and Hotel & Lodging. We also assist students with job placement upon completion of their educational and career technical training.

CAREER COUNSELING MANAGER

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Supervision:
    • Lead and supervise the Counseling & Career Services team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective service delivery.
    • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment that encourages innovation and excellence.
  • Career Guidance and Counseling:
    • Oversee the development and implementation of career counseling programs, ensuring alignment with individual student needs and broader career goals.
    • Provide individual and group counseling to support students in making informed career and educational decisions.
  • Job Placement and Internship Coordination:
    • Collaborate with local employers and industry partners to create job placement opportunities for students.
    • Coordinate internship programs to enhance students' practical skills and real-world experience.
  • Resource Development:
    • Identify and develop resources, materials, and tools to enhance career and counseling services.
    • Stay current on industry trends and job market demands to inform and improve counseling and career programs.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Collect and analyze data related to career services outcomes, student success, and program effectiveness.
    • Prepare reports for leadership and stakeholders, showcasing the impact of counseling and career services.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (including at least 15 semester hours in Social Services-related instruction) from an accredited school required. Master's degree from an accredited school preferred. A minimum of two years' experience in counseling or related field. Job Corps or related program experience would be an asset.
