Campus Kinder Haus, an early childhood center operated by Eastern Nazarene College, is seeking a part-time After-School Coordinator (up to 29 hours per week) to work with students and families for the school year. Campus Kinder Haus is a center for children, ages 2 years 9 months through 6 years. The center serves families in the South Shore and Boston areas as well as the college community. In addition to its regular staff, Campus Kinder Haus employs and mentors college students studying education at Eastern Nazarene College.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Classroom Responsibilities
* Provide and supervise activities which promote the social, emotional, spiritual, cognitive, and physical development of each child.
* Maintain accurate attendance records at all times throughout the day. Maintain accurate emergency contact lists and keep them with you as you bring your class from space to space within the center and on fire drills/field trips.
* Provide and maintain a neat, clean and organized classroom; take responsibility for upkeep of all educational equipment and materials. (This includes keeping the teacher's room, kitchen, playground and great room clean and orderly after each use.)
* Monitor each child's development, sharing any and all concerns with the Director and, when appropriate, with the child's parents/guardians.
* Work with parents whenever possible to promote understanding of growth and development of their child in school; encourage parent participation in the classroom and school program; attend parent workshops and other school functions (i.e. Christmas program, graduation).
* Supervise all activities to ensure safety of each child at all times.
* Work with and evaluate college student aides' who work in the classroom and report concerns immediately to the Director.
Coordinator Responsibilities
* Prepare daily schedules for both afterschool classes, allowing each class time alone on the playground or in the great room.
* Ensures all closing procedures are followed properly and fully.
* Ensures center is secure prior to leaving at the end of each day.
* Provide written developmentally appropriate lesson plans to be utilized by both afterschool classes for each day, one week in advance. These plans are to be kept in the classroom and must be available to parents. Provide weekly experiences in the subjects of: art, music, literature, science, dramatic play, mathematics, and gross motor skills.
* Prepare materials needed for planned activities for both afterschool classes each day.
* Prepare a monthly newsletter for parents, which include themes, special events, and a list of consumable materials if needed for the month.
Office Responsibilities
* Assist the Director when needed.
* Answer phone calls.
* Check the mail daily.
* Distribute any office fliers or notices to parent cubbies.
* Assist the Office Manager with daily tasks.
* Be available to assist in the classroom when needed.
* Provide teachers with bathroom, lunch, and planning breaks when needed.
General Responsibilities
* Work with all other staff members in a collaborative manner.
* Follow personnel policies of Eastern Nazarene College (see staff handbook).
* Promptly report issues involving specific children or room management to the Director.
* Complete 20 hours of training for Department of Early Education and Care, including 5 hours of Special Education Training.
* Attend staff meetings (two hours each month) afterschool and/or evening meetings.
* Notify the Director in event of illness (if possible, the day before or no later than 6:00 AM the morning of.)
Job Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education.
* Experience and training for the designation of Lead Teacher under the MA Early Education and Care specifications.
* Two references, one may be a written reference.
* Documentation that your physical and immunizations are on file in the Director's office.
* Completion of a CORI (a criminal investigation report), returned to the Director, reviewed and approved by the Director.
* Current certification in American Red Cross, First Aid and CPR. (A copy of these certificates must be kept in your file in the office.)
* A committed Christian faith evident in daily life, and support for the mission and educational philosophy of the College.
