Youth Community Service (YCS): High School Programs Manager

Youth Community Service is seeking a High School Programs Manager to support quality programming in and out of school in partnership with the schools in the mid-peninsula area. The Program Manager will utilize their experience and expertise to work closely with the Youth Community Service team and partners to implement programs that prioritize the voices of young people, promote equity, and foster meaningful community connection.

About Youth Community Service

YCS was founded in 1990 as a collaboration between the cities of Palo Alto and East Palo Alto, as well as the Palo Alto Unified and Ravenswood School Districts. Youth Community Service actively works with youth and community leaders to engage in a wide range of public service projects throughout the Mid-Peninsula region of the San Francisco Bay Area. Over three decades, YCS has developed a keen focus on three intersecting domains:Peer Leadership, Social-Emotional Learning and Wellness, and Service-Based Learning.

Requirments

2+ years experience in management

Background in Youth Program Delivery

Master s Degree or equivalent work experience

Candidates will be responsible for their transportation for fieldwork (with mileage reimbursement)

All YCS staff members are required to submit a copy of their automobile insurance, CA driver s license, and a clean DMV record.

All YCS staff members are required to submit results from a TB test and complete Live Scan fingerprint screening. YCS will arrange tests at no cost.

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required at multiple sites that YCS works in. A copy of your vaccine card will need to be submitted to YCS.

responsibilities and tasks

Work with the YCS team to develop an engaging and relevant curriculum that is aligned with the YCS service learning model.

Work directly with youth participants as needed to support the program coordinators.

Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, students, school, and community partners to foster collaboration and mutual support.

Actively cultivate a culture that centers youth voice and equity.

Administrative duties such as approving time cards, writing program reports, and documenting the program.

Ensures alignment with YCS strategic direction while maintaining a high quality program that delivers on grants and other contracted obligations.

salary and benefits

$29 $32/hour, 40 hrs per week, flexible hours, some nights and weekends
