Job Description

The Logistics Supervisor, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, will coordinate the day-to-day operations of all aspects of logistics (i.e. distribution, inventory control, order fulfilment, etc.) to ensure work is completed in a safe and efficient manner. This position is responsible for supervising approximately 20 employees to deliver excellence to our customers and meet assigned deadlines. This involves both initiating and participating in cross-functional projects to accomplish goals associated with safety, quality, productivity, on time delivery, and continuous improvement, while focusing on removing cost from the business. This position establishes and maintains positive employee relations environment by adherence to Danfoss Leadership principles. Additionally, the logistics supervisor clearly communicates expectations while consistently holding self and employees accountable for job-related expectations.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Proactively implements, promotes, and maintains a safe working environment through diligence in accident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and driving accountability
  • Aligns workforce to the company vision through workplace practices and beliefs that build trust, mutual respect, and teamwork between employees at all levels of the organization while developing, motivating, and coaching direct reports
  • Responsible for on-time delivery performance and continuously focusing on reducing manufacturing lead-time for components and products
  • Acts as a business partner by planning, initiating, leading, measuring, monitoring continuous improvement programs by applying appropriate Danfoss Business System (DBS) processes
  • Arrange warehousing and transportation of product to customer
  • Investigate and respond to inquiries regarding distribution and shipping
  • Own all aspects of plant logistics including receiving, warehousing, material movement, and packaging strategy
  • Conduct inventory audits to monitor production and plant inventory levels
  • Drive continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work processes are followed, and countermeasures are implemented as appropriate
  • Conduct daily and monthly department meetings regarding department and plant performance, communication, and goals


Background & Skills

  • Required (basic) qualifications - Bachelor's degree from accredited institution and minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing/logistics related field. Minimum 3 years experience in managing people. In lieu of a degree, 7 years' experience in manufacturing/logistics related field.
  • Preferred qualifications - Master's degree in business or related field. Experience in supply chain management, machining, lean manufacturing, production planning.
