As a Clinical or Counseling Psychologist for 21st Medical Group at Schriever Clinic, your role as a full-time civilian contractor would involve providing a range of behavioral health services to support individuals, families, and the military mission. Here are the specific details of the position:

Qualifications:

  • Degree/Education: You should hold a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychology Association (APA) accredited psychology program.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of experience treating military veterans, active duty, and/or reservists, as well as at least two years of experience working in an outpatient mental health clinic, is required.
  • Internship: Completion of an APA-accredited internship or residency is also necessary.

Duties:
  1. Clinical/Counseling Psychology: You will be responsible for applying various psychological procedures and techniques, such as interviewing, behavioral assessment, evidence-based therapies, and psychological testing/psycho-diagnostic testing. These will be used in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological and neuropsychological disorders.
  2. Psychotherapy and Evaluations: Your role will involve providing individual, family, and group psychotherapy, couples therapy, as well as alcohol and drug treatment evaluations.
  3. Consultation: You will be required to consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders, and school districts as needed.
  4. Record-Keeping: It is important to maintain accurate and current notes in both the mental health records and inpatient medical records of all patients seen. Additionally, you may be required to produce reports of evaluation and/or treatment when necessary.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

As a Clinical Psychologist, you will provide essential mental health services such as individual counseling, group therapy, educational classes, marital counseling, relaxation interventions, psychological testing, command consultations, and disaster mental health response.

Your expertise and experience in treating military personnel will contribute to the overall well-being and support of individuals and families within the military community at Schriever Space Force Base.
