Overview:

Steelworx Industrial Group, LLC. is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Technician to join their industrial client's team.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will work collaboratively across various departments, maintaining and repairing equipment critical to our operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance: Provide maintenance support with moderate supervision to ensure the safe and effective operation of equipment throughout the facility.
  • Preventative Repairs: Perform routine preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic plant equipment.
  • Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to emergency mechanical or electrical issues as needed.
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Safely apply your knowledge and troubleshooting skills to address any production equipment challenges.
  • Collaboration: Interact effectively with all plant personnel to achieve plant-wide and individual goals.
  • Downtime Reduction: Minimize downtime caused by equipment failures.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: 1-3 years of proven work experience in electrical/electronic systems, mechanical systems, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Demonstrate high proficiency in these areas.
  • Manufacturing Practices: Familiarity with standard manufacturing practices, including general safety, lock-out tag-out procedures, forklift safety, ARC Flash awareness, and electrostatic discharge precautions.
  • Electrical Skills: Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing 480/230V 3-phase, 120V, and 24V systems. Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and PLC ladder logic.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Team Player: Collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels, both individually and within a team.
  • Interface Skills: Ability to communicate and work alongside line operators during repairs and troubleshooting.


Additional Skills and Requirements:

  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Apply analytical skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues promptly.
  • Testing Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with testing equipment such as Multi-meters, thermal imaging cameras, and basic hand and power tools.
  • Fast-Paced Environment: Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Computer Proficiency: Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Windows, MS Office Suite, and Outlook email.
  • Welding and Fabrication: Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Food Manufacturing: Previous experience in food manufacturing is highly advantageous.
  • Boiler System Knowledge: Industrial boiler system knowledge and/or certification is beneficial.


Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Leveling: Applicants will be considered for Associate Maintenance Technicians, General Maintenance Technicians, and Senior Maintenance Technicians based on skillset, knowledge, and experience.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills necessary for logging information, processing daily work orders, and completing required documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication and basic math skills are required.
  • Residency: Must reside in the US to be considered.
  • Bilingual: Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential.


Special Skills:

  • Physical Agility: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, climb stairs and ladders, and reach with hands and arms. The position occasionally requires climbing to high elevations.
  • Manual Dexterity: The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and at times up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Working Conditions: Ability to climb in overhead structures, work beneath machines, and perform analysis and repair work. Exposure to high voltage electricity, hazardous materials, and chemicals used in manufacturing and cleaning processes.
  • Temperature Variability: Temperatures inside the plant may vary from -25 degrees to over 100 degrees, and outside work may also be needed.
  • Math Skills: Basic math skills, including percentages, fractions, and measurements.
