Hybrid Schedule- 3 days in the office; 2 days working from home (after a training period)
Job Summary: Responsible for preparing product designs, this includes conceptual, assembly, and detail designs, to comply with customer, industry and company established standards and performance requirements.
Essential Functions, Roles and Responsibilities:
- Practice safe work habits and comply with all quality, safety, health and environmental policies, procedures, programs and regulations.
- Prepare complex product layout, detail (fabrication) and design drawings as assigned. Show details, side views or dimensions as required, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another and of various parts to the whole structure or project.
- Plan, coordinate and review design and drafting activities involved in the conceptual customer design proposal, definition of application, mid-level engineering calculations and manufacturing of assigned products.
- Ensure assignments meet Engineering standards and performance requirements.
- Check work performed by drafters, designers and/or engineers to verify compliance with customer requirements, industry and company standards.
- Lead design staff in analyzing design alternatives, suggest design options and prepare layouts illustrating "Original Thought" proposals.
- Assist in the development of new/improved products to meet new or changing market and/or company requirements.
- Report project status as it relates to on-time delivery, productivity and quality of design.
- Consult with other departments on designs, problems and questions.
- Establish and document required component and product testing for new and modified designs.
- Assist in the testing, as required, and production of test reports of products.
Education, Training, Experience: Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: None required
Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:- Knowledge and use of ANSI, ASME and ISO Drafting Techniques and Geometric Tolerance; API/ISO Product Requirements; Basic Stress Analysis; Development and Control of Design Documentation; and Product Design
- Specialized (Advanced) Computer Skills
- Intermediate Language Skills, Advanced Mathematical Skills, and Highly Advanced Reasoning Ability
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise work assignments and training for Engineering personnel in areas of product design and development, use of various engineering tools, standard engineering procedures and industry specifications/requirements.

- Normally work in an office environment; however, occasionally may work in a laboratory, assembly areas and field service machine shop.
- Occasionally may be exposed to hazards such as loud noise, heavy equipment, temperature extremes, chemicals, etc. while working in Engineering laboratory, assembly areas and field service machine shop.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
