THE ORGANIZATION

Collective Action for a Water Secure World (C4W) has beenestablished to foster, support, promote, and connect organizationsto facilitate and build partnerships to advance progress towards awater-secure world. It is devoted to driving urgently neededcollaboration and coordination by funding scalable, science-basedsolutions implemented through collective action across diversestakeholders to move the needle on water security.

C4W envisions a world where there is global availabilityof an acceptable quantity and quality of water for health,livelihoods, ecosystems and production, achieved with an acceptablelevel of water-related risks to people, environments, andeconomies. C4W will bring together financing and partnerships toadvance the vision of a water-secure world, and support grantmaking to organizations that share this vision.

ROLE AND PURPOSE

C4W seeks an

Executive Director

who ispassionate about building partnerships to advance progress towardsa water secure world. The Executive Director will lead the start-upof C4W and drive the engagement with North American foundations andother donors to secure funding to support the objectives of theorganization, while facilitating the strategic development ofprograms in collaboration with implementing partners. The ExecutiveDirector will lead the formation and implementation of agrant-making facility to manage and distribute funds toimplementing partners of C4W.

During the start-up stage, the Executive Director will workclosely with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI),as C4W s initial implementing partner. IWMI is providing initialfinancial, strategic and implementation support as well astechnical excellence and insights.

The primary responsibilities of the

ExecutiveDirector

are:

Implement a North America foundations and donors fundraisingstrategy.

Develop and implement a Programs and Partnership Strategyinformed by expectations of the different groups of partners thatC4W will establish.

Grow a viable funding pipeline through North Americanfoundations, companies, dafs and other philanthropic funds.

Represent C4W in relevant trust and foundation networkingevents and forums.

Build collaborative relationships with implementing partners tobuild programs that are strategic, of high quality and responsiveto priorities shared by donors.

Establish and manage the disbursement of funds to implementingpartners.

Manage the organization in line with requirements for 501(c)(3) organizations.

Ensure effective financial management, governance and riskmanagement.

Build and manage collaborative networks with implementingpartners to develop programs and a funding pipeline.

WHAT YOU LL BRING

A master s degree with at least 8 years of relevant workexperience holding positions of increasing responsibility.

Demonstrated success in fundraising from North Americaninstitutional donors, such as foundations and other donors.

Experience working closely with donors to execute grants,preferably in the water and/or environment sectors.

Entrepreneurial mind-set who believes in an externally focusedand proactive approach with the energy and passion to engagepeople, negotiate and persuade.

Successful experience collaborating with senior stakeholdersusing tact and diplomacy.

Proven track record of relationship building and successfulgrant proposals / reports for grants above $US500,000.

Exceptional communicator with demonstrable skill in adaptingwritten, verbal and visual communications for a philanthropyaudience.

Proven ability to build and manage donor income streams,maximizing the value of existing and prospective supporters.

Ability to understand diverse donor motivations and deliver abespoke relationship to meet these.

Excellent numeracy and attention to detail, with the ability toanalyze and prepare budgets.

Experience managing the complexities of restricted andunrestricted income projects.

Organized and methodical approach to planning, delivering andmeeting strict deadlines while managing competing priorities underyour own initiative.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage people,establish and maintain effective working relationships with otherstakeholders in multicultural settings, with sensitivity andrespect for gender and diversity.

WHAT WE BRING

C4W offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits packageincluding health care benefits, retirement plan offerings, generouspaid time off and more. The expected starting salary rangefor this position is $140,000 160,000 per year and is based on anumber of factors including, but not limited to skillset, andnumber of years of previous/applicable experience.

WORKENVIRONMENT

The Executive Director will be based in the United State; to beconsidered you must possess a right to work in the USA.

This position is fully remote with flexible core working hours.

Some domestic and international travel will be required forthis position; the anticipated travel schedule is approximately15-25 days per year depending on the successful candidate s homebase.
