My name is Patrick Nusbaum, and I am a Recruiter with The Fountain Group. We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking a Quality Technician for a prominent client of ours. This position is located Manassas, VA. Details for theposition are as follows:
Job Description:
- This position will be onsite in the laboratory, Monday-Friday 1st Shift 7:00am - 3:30pm. Overtime may be needed. Pay is 20-23/hr based on experience.
- Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process to determine and maintain the quality and reliability of products. Achieve department requirements for safety, quality, product release, equipment uptime, sample throughput, and cost. Ensures goods are tested to meet release commitments.
- Perform product testing including pH, osmolality, rapid endotoxin test, conductivity, density and various chemistry, microbiology and tissue culture tests.
- Perform verification of calibration and preventive maintenance of equipment and keep the equipment in general working order within the laboratory.
- Perform and review environmental monitoring of cleanrooms including viable and non-viable air sampling and surface sampling.
Required Skills/Experience: - Degree (AS/ BS in Life sciences) or Bioworks Certification, will also take candidates will high school diploma and experience (2-3 years)
- 1 year experience in a lab setting using aseptic technique and pipetting (academic is fine for candidates with science based degrees)
- Experience with cell culture and/or aseptic technique (must have)
- Knowledge of cell culture technique and experience culturing different animal cell lines
Desired Skills: - Bachelor's degree in science related field
- Familiarity with cGxP (GMP/GLP/GDP/GCP) environments and QC testing methodologies (e.g. pH, osmolality, density, endotoxin, sterility, cell culture, and microbiological methods)
- Prior experience performing testing and track record of delivering results
- Understanding of Manufacturing processes for product formulation, CIP, SIP, and Torque & Fill
