Evans Equipment and Environmental is a sales, service and rental company established in 1987, specializing in industrial water treatment and wash equipment for the oil and gas industry. The company has 50 employees based in Louisiana and Texas. We are seeking an experienced and professional Purchasing Manager to support the growth of the business.


The ideal candidate for this position can critically assess suppliers and vendors for quality equipment and parts and can effectively negotiate the best deals on behalf of the company. The candidate must be proactive, have a sense of urgency and is detail oriented and organized.


Responsibilities:

  • Source parts and equipment by evaluating price, quality, availability, and other criteria.
  • Compare vendor pricing.
  • Negotiating terms and contracts with vendors to obtain the best deals on the behalf of the company.
  • Build and maintain positive vendor relationships.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to schedule deliveries and resolve any shipping issues.
  • Authorize payments and maintain receipts and records of inventory and purchases.
  • Assists in setting up new inventory management software systems and equipment tracking systems.
  • Process returns and issue credits.
  • Establishes best practices policy and procedures for procurement throughout company.
  • Develops and maintains appropriate tracking of inventories and equipment.
  • Manages inventory turns to have available supplies, parts, and equipment to support the company s sales goals.


Requirements:

  • 3-5 Years experience in purchasing
  • Background in Equipment Industry is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy work environment
