**Position Summary**
Overland Sand & Gravel is looking for a highly motivated individual who can operate straight or articulated rubber tired tractor type vehicles equipped with front mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas, to feed conveyors, hoppers, or chutes, and to load trucks
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.
Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate loader.
Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front end loader forward to force bucket into bulk material.
Moves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drives vehicle to work site, and moves levers to dump material.
Performs routine maintenance on loader such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
Assures safe operation of equipment.
This position will be based out of the Central City Pit.
Other duties may be assigned.
**Position Requirements and Education**
* High school education preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Must have previous heavy equipment experience with some manual labor on plant equipment.
* Must also be mechanically and physically inclined to provide mechanical and maintenance skills to the gravel pit operation.
* The job is a 9 to 12 hour shift, and during busy season the position may be required to work 5 to 6 days a week, which would be 45-60 hours per week.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places.
The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
