Some of what you'll be doing:This is a full-time summer internship opportunity. You will work under the supervision of the Chief Development Officer (CDO) in support of the Planning, Capital Programs, Facilities, Project Management and Controls Departments and various other tasks, as assigned by the CDO. Some of your essential duties may include:Provide support to Capital Programs departmental projects and initiatives, as assignedSupport individual program/project managers to help facilitate project work including project schedule maintenance, project documentation revisions, and resource time allocationSupport daily tasks of the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPM)Assist in the development, review and editing of Capital Program reports and presentation materialsDocument stakeholder and internal coordination meetings for various Capital Development effortsSupport Capital Programs Director and Assistant Directors with support for project specific needs such as documentation, analysis, information gathering, etc.Conduct spreadsheet analysis and computer modeling of airside, terminal, cargo and landside facilities/functionsLearn and use project management software and toolsWork on process improvement projects across multiple Capital Programs teamsProvide products and services that consistently meet or exceed the needs and expectations of customersWho you are:A student You must be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate (< 1 year ago) in an undergraduate degree or certificate program such as Architecture, Engineering, Aviation Management, Project Management, or other related fieldsCommitted to Equity - You will apply equity and exemplify shared values, behaviors, and practices in all aspects of the work. At the Port of Seattle, equity is a daily responsibility and a foundational expectation for all Port employeesTechnology You have good computer skills with the ability to effectively use MS office programs such as Project, Word, and ExcelAnalytical Ability to synthesize information to effectively document planning analyses through technical report writing and to provide timely, accurate information with clear recommendations to decision makersWe hope you have General understanding of Airport and Airline operations and facilities across all functional areas i.e., airside, terminal, landside, cargo, airline support and airport supportWhat else you need to know:Driver s License You will need a valid Washington State Driver s License, or the ability to obtain one, is required in order to travel locally to project sites.Work Schedule Your normal work schedule will be Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role.Work Environment You will generally work in an office environment.Limited Duration This is a limited duration position and is expected to last no longer than five months.Safety Requirements You will be required to comply with all work rules, safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.Security Requirements As the successful candidate, you will/must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance.Washington State Residency Requirement Employees must establish a residence in Washington State within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle.
