Benefits/Payroll Specialist


Job Details

As a Payroll Benefits Specialist, you will be responsible for administering all aspects of employee compensation and benefits programs within the organization. This includes processing payroll, managing employee benefits enrollment, and providing support to employees regarding their compensation and benefits queries.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process payroll for all employees on a timely basis.
  • Calculate and record payroll deductions, such as taxes, benefits, and other withholdings.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits.
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
  • Collaborate with benefits providers to resolve issues and ensure accurate billing.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including payroll data, benefits information, and related documentation.
  • Prepare reports on payroll and benefits metrics as needed.
  • Ensure data integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive employee information.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll and benefits regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as federal, state, and local laws governing payroll and benefits administration.
  • Assist in audits related to payroll and benefits processes.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding payroll and benefits inquiries.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to employees on understanding their compensation and benefits packages.
  • Address and resolve issues or concerns related to payroll and benefits in a timely and professional manner.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in payroll administration and benefits management.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, including tax calculations and deductions.
  • Familiarity with benefits programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
