**Description****SAIC** is currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented **Data Scientist Senior** to join our team to begin an exciting and challenging career. The right candidate will bring an interest in applying his or her talents to national and homeland security problems.**Job Responsibilities**+ Collect and analyze large data sets from complex data models including relational databases+ Define acceptance criteria including setting algorithm thresholds based on statistical analysis+ Develop and identify approaches for predictive models+ Define and set standards for performing data analysis+ Manage a small team of data engineers responsible for performing data mining and analysis+ Interface with clients, project management, stake holders, and development teams+ Consolidate information into reports**Qualifications****Required Skills:**+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Computational Statistics, or related field+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust requiring U.S. Citizenship+ 9 years of experience in data science techniques - including data analysis, statistical analysis, programming, modeling, machine learning, and deep learning+ 3-5 years of leadership experience+ Strong programming skills including SQL, python, other related languages, and data mining tools+ Strong background in math and statistics+ Advanced learning techniques - information retrieval, modeling, and entity resolution+ Knowledge of a variety of data formats such as XML, JSON, and various image formats+ Strong organization and time management skills+ Excellent oral and written communication skills+ Ability to work effectively within a team environment**Desired Skills:**+ Knowledge working with Unix/Linux+ Experience working with DHS, Customs and Border Protection, or travel related data+ Experience working with various forms of biometric algorithms, facial recognition preferred+ Familiarity with NIST standards+ Master's Degree in a related fieldSAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters.
