Last Energy (LE) seeks a highly skilled and motivated Rapid Prototyping Lead to join our team and oversee our in-house rapid prototyping lab while driving innovation in the heat exchanger and thermofluidics domain. This candidate will play a vital role in advancing our R&D efforts, ensuring the successful development of cutting-edge products.
Key Duties & Responsibilities- Lead a mechanical-oriented R&D project focused on heat exchangers and thermofluidics, from concept to prototype and validation.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define project goals, requirements, and timelines.
- Apply CAD design expertise to create detailed and accurate engineering models, ensuring designs are aligned with project objectives and manufacturing capabilities.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to manage prototyping services, ensuring high-quality and timely deliverables.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to rapid prototyping, heat exchangers, and thermofluidics.
- Contribute to design for manufacturability, optimizing designs for efficient production and assembly.
- Troubleshoot and maintain the equipment in our in-house rapid prototyping lab, including 3D additive and subtractive automated machines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 3-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering environment, with a strong focus on rapid prototyping and R&D.
- Advanced interest and proficiency in operating 3D additive and subtractive automated machines.
- Experience creating fast/low fidelity prototypes as part of the creative/conceptual early design process
- Proficiency in CAD design software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor) for creating intricate and accurate 3D models.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude towards overcoming technical challenges.
