As an Environmental Engineer or Geologist joining our client's team, you will play a crucial role in field operations, overseeing drilling activities and providing technical support for various projects. This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working alongside seasoned professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and Overseeing Fieldwork
- Conduct site assessment work utilizing various drilling and sampling techniques.
- Install monitoring and remediation wells.
- Facilitate remediation pilot testing.
- Manage permitting processes.
Technical Analysis and Reporting
- Prepare, write, and review technical assessment, remediation, and status reports.
- Conduct contaminant fate and transport evaluations.
- Evaluate groundwater flow and hydrogeological data.
- Interpret chemical data and assess remediation progress.
- Support environmental risk assessment and develop management strategies.
Project Coordination
- Collaborate with Project Managers to manage, plan, and implement environmental site assessment and remediation activities.
- Develop workplans and budgets in alignment with project goals.
Candidate Requirements:
Experience and Education
- 5-10 years of demonstrated environmental assessment and remediation experience in Southern California.
- Bachelor s degree in earth science (geology or hydrogeology) or civil/environmental engineering from an accredited university; Master s degree preferred.
- California Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer, or the ability to obtain within 12 months.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in authoring investigation reports and technical documents.
- Familiarity with environmental drilling and sampling techniques.
- Experience with various remediation techniques.
Project Management
- Ability to budget projects and manage billing.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Interpersonal Skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
