IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Civil Project Engineer in our Leesburg, VA office. As a Civil Project Engineer you will be responsible for assisting Project Managers with detailed engineering analysis in the preparation of engineering reports, permit applications and construction plan preparation.

Some key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Function as lead designer in the preparation, organization, completion, and submission of drawings to the appropriate jurisdictions

  • Ensure the utilization of sound engineering/design procedures and monitor that of the team

  • Coordination of municipal, transportation, traffic, and other disciplines

  • Complete permit applications for a variety of local municipalities

  • Direct and train Civil Designers to assist them in completing reports, exhibits, plans and specifications and permit applications as required by the project's contractual scope

  • Help to ensure the team is working efficiently to produce a quality product by providing training and instruction in day-to-day activities of less experienced designers and CAD operators

Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:

  • Technical proficiency in all aspects of land development civil engineering, including: roadways and streets, grading, SWM/BMP, erosion and sediment control, storm sewers, sanitation, and water design

  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D software

  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

  • An understanding of materials and methods

  • Ability to interpret state and local design criteria and apply it to the specific project needs

  • Ability to consistently produce high quality construction documents

Education and experience requirements are:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering

  • A minimum of 3 years of qualifying experience preferred

  • PE license preferred
