Position: Plant Manager (Food & Beverage Manufacturing)


Location: Illinois


Summary: The Plant Manager will be responsible for providing visionary leadership and effective coaching to develop and maintain the competencies, performance, and collaboration of all departmental employees. They will be an exemplary people leader who provides direction and fosters the professional development of departmental managers and supervisors. The Director of Plant Operations also drives continuous improvement, executes change management, and ensures plant and employee safety standards are met. They ensure efficient production, maintain safety standards, and manage personnel. The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of management experience in the food and beverage manufacturing industry.


Responsibilities:


Oversee Operations:

  • Ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
  • Develop and implement plans to optimize production processes.
  • Manage production schedules and resources.


Budget Management:

  • Create and manage budgets for the plant.
  • Monitor expenses and minimize unnecessary costs.


Personnel Management:

  • Recruit, train, and onboard new employees.
  • Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Maintain work schedules to ensure proper coverage.


Data Analysis:

  • Collect and review data to identify inefficiencies and waste.
  • Create reports for executive management regarding process improvements.


Safety and Compliance:

  • Perform routine safety checks on equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, GMPs, and OSHA regulations.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years management experience in a food plant manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • High-level knowledge of liquid food processing equipment, GMPs, HACCP, OSHA, and plant safety practices.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, MRP, and material control & inventory transaction reporting
