Project Manager - Transportation Equipment Manufacturing & Services

Our global transportation manufacturing client has an exciting opportunity to join their team as a Project Manager. In this position you will be responsible for managing multiple concurrent high-value projects from proposal phase, through design, installation, quality and final delivery. You will be accountable for project documentation, planning, scheduling, commercial and financial performance, stakeholder communication and overall project team performance. The ideal candidate for this role will have a track record of managing high complex projects in a heavily matrixed environment, strong contract management skills and experience in risk management. This position is based north of Baltimore and offers a hybrid work arrangement.


Requirements:

  • Background in mechanical engineering or related field. PMP certification preferred
  • 5+ years of experience managing projects, strong negotiation skills and complex contract management skills
  • Experience in transportation, rail or freight related industries highly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to balance needs of customer with business requirements


Scope:

  • Develop project plans to align with both project and product cost targets, as well as delivery targets, regulatory reporting and financial performance goals.
  • Lead concurrent long term projects with minimal oversight, while serving as primary point of contact for clients
  • Responsible for day to day tracking of projects, meeting customer requirements, cost goals and schedule.
  • Responsible for maintaining and overseeing project documentation, planning, scheduling, financial performance, stakeholder communication and continuous improvement of cycle-times
  • Anticipate, identify and resolve potential obstacles to completing project on time and on budget
  • Monitor and report on the status of projects including cost, timing and staffing
  • Respond to and resolve complex issues with minimal supervision and escalating as needed
  • Lead communications and support review of deliverables in coordination with the project team to ensure requirements are met.
  • Communicate and negotiate effectively with customers and vendors as well as internal departments (Engineering, Quality, Field Service)



Compensation is targeted between $90k - $120k base and is eligible for additional annual incentive compensation. Relocation assistance is offered for qualified candidates.
