If you are looking for a cool, hardworking organization to be a part of, look no further! We are currently seeking a Garden Center Assistant Manager to join our team.
**What Youll Do:**
Support the garden center VP, overseeing daily store functions & activities of the garden center
Develop and monitor garden center budget, margins and loss prevention
Mentor garden center department supervisors. Train and evaluate with them regularly to uphold customer service, quality, staffing, visual, and loss prevention standards of the garden center. Provide hands-on support during peaks; including & not limited to sales assistance on the sales floor when needed, inventory, merchandising etc.
Make sure our team is made of professionals who provide an exceptional experience & build genuine relationships with customers through the goods & services we offer. Hold the team accountable to our standards. Assist department supervisors in hiring & scheduling
Communicate tasks, both daily and long term. Make sure that they are delegated properly and completed timely
Wear a 2 channel radio to communicate with the entire Garden Center Team
Help in keeping our POS database accurate
**Skills Were Seeking:**
One with business acumen of a sophisticated retail setting
Critical thinker & analytical mindset; attention to detail
Understanding of retail space and turns
5 years experience of customer service, employee and people management skills in a retail setting
General interest in gardening and outdoor gifts; plant knowledge a plus
Microsoft Office & Point of Sale savvy
Self-Starter with a sense of urgency, ability to work independently and create efficiencies where possible
Available on weekends at peak points of the season
Friendly, outgoing, approachable, team player, flexible, great communicator, eager to learn & grow our business!
