Summary

The Director of Sales is responsible for driving profitable sales growth for the company in his/her region. They will drive to strongly position our products and capabilities, capturing the maximum potential of our value proposition and increasing overall profitability.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall management and growth of sales region.
  • Hire and develop high performance sales brokers
  • Develop and execute sales strategies that align with company goals
  • Anticipate customer needs by constant review of market conditions and competitive activity
  • Achieve yearly EBITDA budget
  • Increase sales volume, optimize distribution, build promotional strategies, increase merchandising impact, expand networks, and take charge of the overall success of accounts in their area.
  • Deliver appropriate price results to maintain gross profit, realize margin improvements and reach targeted sales growth.
  • Manage the customer portfolio, develop, and execute upon account strategies in the territory including multinationals, distributors and other accounts.
  • Actively collaborate with the sales team and cross-functioning teams to create and implement sales strategy through promotional programs, trainings, tradeshows, and events.
  • Anticipate market trends, competitive activities and customer strategy to identify and seize opportunities and identify risks. Deploy strategies to capture opportunities and mitigate risk.
  • Develop key connections at strategic accounts to create strong, long-term and loyal relationships leading to open dialogue with focus on generating innovative, high value sales wins.
  • Sets, prioritizes and enables achievement of ambitious goals.


Qualifications

Bachelor s degree in Business or Food Science with a minimum 5 years of Sales experience in Food industry.

Minimum of 5 years sales experience preferably in perishable.

Direct responsibility in sales in traditional grocery with category management and trade funds account level management experience.

Hands on direct and brokered experience, as well as managing and selling national accounts.

Proven success in a high growth company and experience in developing sales plans in detail tied to company targeted objectives.

Proven experience handling major negotiations with key customers.

IRI/AC Nielson data experience.

Fact based selling experience.

Recognized and respected by our customers and solid experience providing customer centric solutions.

Strong sales leadership and managerial skills.

Ability to analyze sales data and develop selling strategies from information.

Customer presentation development skills.

Strong computer application skills, including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have ability to communicate across functional lines at all levels of organization.

Ability to manage multiple project assignments and coordinate activities to meet specific deadlines
