The Inventory Control Specialist implements, manages, and controls physical product inventory and inventory management systems. Responsible for creating inventory reports, maintaining inventory tracking systems, organizing internal product transfers, inventory sampling programs, harvest scheduling, and harvest projections.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

* Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence, and Teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times.

* Set up and manage inventory control database in access.

* Work with all team members and improve inventory control communication and teamwork.

* Identify, report, and assist in the deployment of opportunities for improvement within our operations or markets.

* Monitor, analyze, and control inventory usage across the Shellfish Division.

* Ensure the appropriate mix of time is spent training/guiding the team at various plants, including inventory costing and cost monitoring procedures.

* Ensure inventory reports are accurate and available on a timely basis.

* Evaluate company performance via actual to budget analysis via the use of comparative statements and evaluation of financial ratios/statistics.

* Identify variances between physical inventory and inventory volumes in the system.

* Assist in the organization and coordination of physical inventories.

* Drives the implementation, application, and fulfillment of inventory tracking and controls order procedures.

* Communicate inventory levels for all farms and product types to company Sales Managers to facilitate product movement.

* Establish quarterly inventory sampling protocols and report estimated sizing and anticipated harvest dates.

* Report inventory sampling results to farm and plant managers for targeted harvesting to fill orders to product and customer specifications.

* Prepare and report an inventory analysis at period end and communicate to Shellfish Farm Manager, Controller, and General Manager.

* Manage Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Maps and create maps for new farming areas as needed.

* Perform other duties, as assigned

**Qualifications**

* Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university or equivalent work experience is required.

* Prior experience working for a distribution and or processing company, preferably in the seafood industry, is preferred.

* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, include Microsoft Access is preferred.

* Knowledge of the seafood industry is a plus.
