LHH is actively seeking a Category Manager- Indirect for a global manufacturing company in the Northbrook area. This is a great opportunity with a stable and growing company and a chance to play a key role in a highly visible department .
This role is responsible for leading strategic sourcing activities across multiple areas of Indirect spend, working with high level internal customers, and managing a spend of up to $100M.
The primary responsibilities for this role include
- Developing and implementing complex procurement strategies
- Negotiating contracts and SOWs
- Work interdepartmentally to identify and define procurement needs
- Achieve cost savings targets
- Develop budgets
- Vendor management
- Identify areas of opportunity
- Additional duties as needed
The ideal candidate profile will have the following qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
- 8+ years of progressive procurement experience
- Highly analytical
- ERP system experience, SAP a strong plus
- Project management and strategic implementation experience
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable interfacing with all levels of the organization
