Vital Link is looking to add a Buyer I position to the team. We are located in Sealy, Texas. You must submit a resume to be considered.
**Duties**
The primary function of the Buyer I is to assist the Purchasing Manager with the procurement of supplies and services which are in accordance with job plans and specifications, and represent the best value to the company. Price is to be the primary consideration when making procurement decisions, although discretion should be utilized to consider delivery, quality, and other factors. The following specific actions are required to support this function.
Solicit vendors, negotiate and issue purchase orders in accordance with company procedures, under the direction of the Purchasing Manager. Purchase orders must include all required terms and conditions, including pricing, units of measures, required time of delivery, place of delivery, description of goods and services, quality requirements, any special terms, and documentation to be supplied by the vendor.
Purchase orders may be issued pursuant to Bills of Material (BOMs) issued by Project Managers, requisitions issued by Department Managers, or requests from company officers.
Obtain three (3) price quotes on all procurements where possible, and keep record of the same in purchase order file, or document why these were not be obtained.
Follow up on a regular basis with vendors to ensure delivery of goods and services are made in a timely manner. Communicate any delays with delivery to the Project Manage or other initiator of the requirement.
Negotiate changes to the purchase order as required based on changes in requirements, delivery schedules, specifications, or other factors.
Coordinate with the Shipping and Receiving Department to ensure purchase orders are tracked and closed out upon cancellation of delivery of goods.
