The Role: Data Researcher
As a Data Researcher, you will spearhead research initiatives aimed at refining techniques and methodologies for selecting and curating data. Your contributions will directly shape our product use cases and overall data strategy, integrating user feedback and industry insights. Collaborating closely with our data infrastructure and crawling teams, you'll engage in rapid hypothesis iteration.
Responsibilities:
- Experimenting with strategies for curating, cleaning, structuring, and augmenting data on a large scale.
- Designing efficient metrics to assess data quality.
- Developing proxies to evaluate the performance of different data sources and preparation strategies on downstream model performance.
- Integrating product use cases and feedback into data preparation strategies.
- Collaborating closely with our data infrastructure and crawling teams to facilitate rapid experimentation.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Python.
- Strong ML fundamentals and a penchant for first principles thinking.
- Ability to write, debug, and optimize distributed code, with expertise in data orchestration and automation tools (or a strong willingness to learn).
- Familiarity with distributed frameworks like Spark, Ray, etc.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Enjoyment of building from the ground up in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
