This full time position is based in Half Moon Bay, CA and is an in-office role.


ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY


We are looking for an experienced and highly passionate Interior Designer with 3-5+ years of high end residential experience. Please note that this level of experience is a must.


The role of Interior Designer is to help drive design projects from design concept through to final installation. As Interior Designer, you will be responsible for working alongside the Principal delivering projects; creating beauty and seamless functionality. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, takes initiative and works well in a team environment.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES


This responsibilities of the Interior Designer position include but are not limited to:


DESIGN AND DRAFTING


  • Serve as project lead or collaborate with Principal as appropriate to project.
  • Work closely with Principal on specific project design elements.
  • Develop conceptual designs, create mock-ups and complete with drawings and/or renderings.
  • Design, specify, draft and integrate all elements of interior design and architecture including, but not limited to: furniture plans, architectural details including walls, floors, window heights, columns, millwork and other built-ins, kitchens and bathrooms and other construction documents. Perform site measures.
  • Perform drafting (by hand and using AutoCAD) of furniture plans, custom designs, construction drawings and renderings as required.
  • Design, specify, and draft custom furniture as required.
  • Research, source and specify all FF&E to include fabrics, floor coverings, wall coverings, and furniture per project requirements.


PROJECT MANAGEMENT


  • Review complete project documentation to determine full scope of work, completion schedules, and any other relevant items.
  • Maintain continual two-way communication with Principal and project team regarding project and Client details. Keep all interested parties apprised of significant events.
  • Interface with contractors and vendors as necessary to coordinate production and project schedules. Coordinate and supervise installations.
  • Meet and communicate with Clients as necessary to complete project components.
  • Serve as liaison with vendors to provide direction and/or to obtain pertinent information to create detailed proposals for Client knowledge and approval.
  • Generate accurate vendor purchase orders, review vendor order acknowledgements, and see through to order completion.
  • Identify, receive and document issues. Consult with Principal on solutions and see-through to resolution.
  • Travel as necessary to complete project tasks. Visit job sites as needed.
  • Manage and maintain all project documentation.
  • Track and process project expenses.


KEY QUALIFICATIONS


  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Degree in Interior Design
  • Ideally 3-5+ years direct work experience in a residential interior design firm
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD (A plus: Revit, InDesign and SketchUp)
  • Studio Designer experience a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with both Mac and PC operating systems
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual/digital communication skills
  • Current driver s license and auto insurance with access to a car

SALARY, BENEFITS & SCHEDULE


  • Excellent Compensation that is hourly, non-exempt and based on experience
  • Full time, in-office Monday through Friday schedule
  • $400 monthly healthcare contribution
  • 401k w/ 2% match
  • Mileage reimbursement
  • Vacation Days (15, increases with tenure)
