Senior Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) Researcher on Jihadi Content


Job Details

Expanding OSINT research team seeks analyst for searching, locating, organizing, and analyzing jihad-related intelligence-worthy terrorist/jihadist data from open sources (primarily Internet and social media). Arabic language proficiency required.


Candidate must be inquisitive, organized, persistent, and enthusiastic about initiating and carrying out independent focused research projects, as well as able to work cooperatively with team members. Superb written and oral communication skills are vital, as the positions require writing research reports (in English) for publication as well as presenting research findings in person. Candidate must also be able to flawlessly organize, archive, and retrieve their ongoing and completed research, for their own and others' access.


Candidate must be extremely dedicated to the mission of exposing security threats and dangerous ideological content, and able and willing to work nights and weekends when events dictate, as well as to pivot frequently between often rapidly shifting priorities and deadlines.


Job Duties:

- Research, evaluate, analyze, integrate, and interpret information from various open sources.

- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly intelligence products, including briefings and analytical papers.

- Communicate findings effectively and accurately to team members, management, clients, and others.

- Prepare briefings and presentations pertaining to areas of focus and expertise.

- Effectively navigate various social media platforms, and quickly adapt to new and emerging platforms and technologies.

- Position is in-office. Seeking long-term engagement, with minimum two-year commitment.


Qualifications:

Applicants with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree (Master s preferred) and 3-5 years of related experience in social media, analysis, data science, intelligence, computer science, Middle Eastern studies, and/or global affairs.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and online platforms.

- Ability to work as part of a team.

- Ability to multitask and to accomplish tasks with limited supervision, and manage shifting tasks and priorities.

- Ability to get up to speed on the job almost immediately.
