Alford & Clark PLLC is a law firm that tries cases statewide. The firm has offices in both San Antonio and Austin. The firm handles personal injury cases only and receives most of its files from other attorneys. The firm has 6 lawyers and about 20 staff - it is a trial firm that is brought in by other firms to try difficult or undervalued cases.


Role Description


This is a full-time hybrid role for a Trial Attorney. The Trial Attorney will be responsible for day-to-day tasks involving reviewing staff's discovery drafts, taking depositions, and trying cases. This is not an office-lawyer job and some experience is required - at least in taking depositions. Mock trial and prior trial experience is strongly preferred. Candidates able to work from the firm's Austin office are preferred, but San Antonio office is also an option. Spanish speakers are preferred more so than which office applicants can work in, but is also not required. Good advocacy skills and pride in the craft of real lawyering is a must.


This job requires an increasingly rare skill set and work ethic but pays tremendously well in a firm that has a family-like culture.


Qualifications

  • Ability to prepare and argue motions
  • Experience in courtrooms
  • Experience in conducting trials and depositions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Dedication to providing exemplary client service
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school


Experience with personal injury cases and bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English would be beneficial but not required.
