We are now seeking a full-time Fine Jewelry Stone-Setter for a year-round position on our team of high-performing, collaborative jewelers.
Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fine Jewelry Stone-Setter to join our team. The primary focus of this role is to skillfully set diamonds and gemstones into solid 14k gold fine jewelry pieces with precision and artistry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Stone Setting:
- Set gemstones of various shapes and sizes into fine jewelry pieces using techniques such as prong, bezel, and pave setting.
- Ensure the highest level of craftsmanship and attention to detail in every stone-setting project while meeting company efficiency standards for order completion.
- Collaborate, on occasion, with the Product Development team to bring their creative vision to life through impeccable stone setting.
2. Quality Assurance:
- Conduct thorough quality checks of your own work before order submission to ensure that all set stones meet the company's standards for craftsmanship and aesthetics.
- Identify and address any issues related to stone setting promptly.
- Correct and resubmit any orders returned by Quality Control
- Strive to continually improve first pass yield rate
3. Skill Development:
- Stay updated on industry trends and new stone-setting techniques.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance and refine stone-setting skills.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Share knowledge and assist other jewelers in problem-solving and troubleshooting during the jewelry production process
- Occasionally perform cast cleaning, soldering, resizing, and other related Bench Jeweler functions as needed to support unanticipated increases in order volume or absences of other team members (no specific experience or skill needed at hire, only a willingness to cross-train)
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a Fine Jewelry Stone Setter.
2. Proficient in various stone-setting techniques.
3. Strong attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship.
4. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with other team members.
5. Ability to work independently and efficiently while maintaining quality standards in a fast-paced environment.
Experience:
- 18+ years of age
- Formal training in jewelry making or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Fine Jewelry Stone Setter.
