David Thompson Studio is seeking applications from candidates for a design position. This is an opportunity to work in a creative, collaborative studio on a variety of project types and scales. We are a full service architectural firm engaged in retail, office and residential design with a focus on the hospitality sector, (restaurants, bars and hotels). The work includes adaptive re-use, historic preservation, interiors and new construction of light commercial buildings and houses. Current and previous projects are located in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Arkansas, Virginia and Washington D.C
The Designer will work with a team including licensed Architects, Intern Architects and designers to participate in design work from schematics through construction documents. This position will provide the opportunity to participate in construction administration and project coordination with consulting engineers and specialists. The candidate should have 3 to 5 years of experience and be a licensed, registered architect or actively pursuing licensure with appropriate education requirements complete. Proficient knowledge of and experience with Apple computers and operating systems is required. Experience with Vectorworks is encouraged but not required.
