Job Description:
Sweet Water Decor is a growing online retailer seeking an excellent Product Development Manager to join our team! You will be overseeing all aspects of developing product, product research & compliance, vendor relations & management, design / concept, and more. It would entail developing home decor, gift, candles, and more for Sweet Water Decor.

Job Responsibilities Include (not limited to):
- Conducting market research and product strategies for new and existing product opportunities
- Overseeing the entire product development lifecycle from concept to launch, including setting timelines, milestones, and more
- Creates vision boards for all seasons / product ideas including concept and color
- Sources all SWD product / components
- Owning vendor communication - working with all of our vendors in the US and abroad on all samples / orders / design
- Approves and oversees all samples and gives vendors feedback
- Working closely with buying, design, marketing, sales, brand, and manufacturing to ensure alignment and collaboration throughout the product development process
- Ensuring that products meet quality standards and all regulatory requirements
- Responsible for hitting launch milestones and deadlines
- Works closely with marketing team to launch new products / strategy
- Monitoring product performance - tracking key metrics such as sales revenue, customer feedback, and market share. This involves analyzing data to identify areas for improvement and making adjustments to the product strategy as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor s Degree
- 5+ years experience after college
- Proven experience working in design / analysis / product development
- Exceptional communicator, problem solver, and critical thinker
- Strong people skills
- Strong ability to work independently as well as in a team environment / cross functionally
- Ability to learn quickly and continuously improving skills and knowledge
- Solid computer and analysis skills
- Well-organized and detail oriented
- Exceptional communication and writing skills

Who We Are
Sweet Water Decor is an online retailer created in 2014 by Pittsburgh-native and candle enthusiast, Melissa Horvath.
After offering an assortment of home decor and gifts, Sweet Water Decor quickly became known for its Pittsburgh-made candles after introducing them in 2017. In 2024, we hit our 2 millionth candle sold.
What started as a business built out of Melissa s basement is now defined by milestones we re so grateful to have achieved. In 2018, we were named one of Amazon s Woman Owned Businesses to watch. In 2022 we launched our first candle collection in collaboration with the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation to raise funds for local Pittsburgh nonprofits. This success was followed by the launch of our 2023 collection.
The home of our candle production, shipping, and office teams are located in one unified space to encourage a workplace of collaboration, quality, and care for our dedicated 35+ team members.
