Aviation Back Shop Technician

Job Summary

The Back Shop Technician will work with the maintenance team to inspect, test, repair, maintain and service aircraft batteries and accessories using test equipment and hand tools as needed to return aircraft to service per FAA and manufacturers specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities

    • Inspects conditions of batteries, tires, and other accessories, and replaces/repairs components as needed
    • Ensures proper care of customer property at all phases of maintenance work
    • Continually keeps clean and organized work area including personal tool box
    • Understands and follows safety procedures and utilizes support equipment in a safe manner
    • Completes all documentation in an efficient and timely matter
    • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Job Requirements
    • Minimum 2 years' experience in general aviation repair or line service
    • Must be 18 years' old
    • Ability to obtain a Repairman's Certification within a specified time will be required

Other Prerequisites
    • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
    • Ability to obtain Airport Issued security badge

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
    • Work is performed in an aircraft hangar environment with moderate noise level. The employee is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
