Quality Assurance Quality Control Inspector

Job Details

Any active and dynamic Quality Control Facility Inspectors out there? We're looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, who is personable and a strong communicator across channels. We work at the state-of-the-art EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) government facility at Research Triangle Park in Durham, NC. This campus is 1.3 million sq. ft. and it is b-e-a-utiful! Our newest teammate will walk about 3 miles per day on the grounds to inspect completed site maintenance work orders from our internal repair team and subcontractors.

This role will keep.you.busy! We're talking climbing ladders, hopping up on the roof, using scissor lifts, crouching and squeezing into places - anything we've got to do for a thorough inspection. It's our job to ensure safety and compliant operation of systems, instruments, and equipment - and we're pretty darned good at it!

There's really good work-life balance here. The role is Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and there's a full benefits package (3 weeks paid vacation, 10 paid holidays, medical/dental/vision coverage, 401k match, and more).

What You Would Do All Day

Pretty much anything related to the inspection of executed tasking in Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Structural, and Automation related areas. While ensuring work is compliant with local state and national codes, of course. It's more than just that, though. We need a QC Inspector who can see the work from our client's perspective, or better yet, if this was your company's facility.

  • Assess work performed by technical staff to ensure quality of work
  • Works with in-house Maintenance Technicians (about 70 people, but no direct reports) to make necessary corrections as result of inspections.
  • Acts as a representative to the Quality Manager in executing milestone inspections
  • Assist in review of project work plans for compliance prior to client submittal.
  • Check lots of boxes. Literally. We have checklists on paper and in digital format that must be completed daily.

What We Can't Do Without

  • 5+ years of experience in quality control inspection, reviewing plans, and specifications
  • Experience in the following environments: campus style / colleges / schools, laboratories, data centers, large administrative facilities, construction sites, industrial complexes, childcare facilities, hospital campuses, military bases, etc.
  • Experience in at least some trades areas like electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, security, general construction, general mechanical, automation, structural, etc. (you know, blue collar, get your hands dirty, humble work, backbone of America kind of stuff)
  • Familiarity with MS Suite. We're not building pivot tables, but you gotta know your way around.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 18+ years of age or older
  • Possess and maintain a valid North Carolina Driver s License
  • Successful results of pre-employment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen
  • Ability to obtain site security and access credentials
  • Legible handwriting

It Would Be Cool If You Have

  • Any trades industry licenses, certifications, or degrees
  • Familiarity with Nuvolo work order software program

What we Bring

  • Full benefits (15 Days PTO, 10 holidays, medical/dental/vision coverage, employee referral program, new parent leave, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) with match, and more!)
  • Free PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Tool allowance program
  • Opportunities to learn new skills and advance in your career
  • Work-life balance with a predictable schedule
  • Socializing with teammates - join a career family! (no isolated work)
  • Safety-focused environment
  • A diverse and inclusive talent group to work with
