Job Description:


The Cost Control Specialist will play a vital role in assisting NN Project Managers (PMs) with various cost control activities, including monthly invoice review, Change Control valuation, Earned Value confirmation, and other related tasks. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage cost-related processes effectively.


Responsibilities:


  • Invoice Review: Assist NN PMs in reviewing and verifying monthly invoices from contractors and vendors, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract terms and project budgets.
  • Change Control Valuation: Collaborate with project teams to evaluate proposed changes to scope, schedule, or budget, and assess their impact on project costs. Prepare change order requests and conduct cost estimates for approval.
  • Earned Value Confirmation: Support the implementation of Earned Value Management (EVM) systems by verifying progress and performance data against planned project budgets and schedules. Analyze variances and report findings to project stakeholders.
  • Cost Tracking: Monitor and track project costs against budgeted amounts, identifying deviations and potential cost overruns. Provide regular updates to NN PMs and project teams on cost performance.
  • Forecasting: Assist in developing cost forecasts and projections based on current project performance and anticipated future expenditures. Identify potential risks and opportunities that may impact project costs.
  • Reporting: Prepare and distribute regular cost control reports to project stakeholders, summarizing key cost metrics, variances, and trends. Provide insights and recommendations for cost optimization and risk mitigation.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards related to cost control and financial management.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in cost control or project controls, preferably within the manufacturing or construction industry.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial analysis and cost estimation techniques.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial management
