The Advanced Product Planning team is responsible for future vehicle concepts that meet the mobility needs of our customers. We are looking for someone to join the team who is driven, curious, and loves the challenge of solving complex problems. You are going to be part of a close-knit agile team in meeting business objectives with analysis & stories rooted in customer needs, market data, forecasts and research. This involves collaborating cross-regionally with NML & cross-functionally with groups including R&D, Design, and other groups within Product Planning. The ideal planner continually evolves by leveraging their skills, experience, and learnings from both their team and customer, growing to be a vital member of a global organization

  • Performs data mining and analysis to extract customer insights to deeply understand the market and customer needs and expectations
  • Assists in the creation of robust proposals using storytelling with clear, data-driven, and compelling proposals to drive decision-making involving product portfolio direction and to acquire approvals with Global Advanced Planning, Regional Product Managers, and MC-NA Executives
  • Collaborates with other teams, departments, and regions/locations to appropriately support Product Planning within various points of the process; in this case upstream development of assigned projects
  • Weekly communication and negotiation with local and global counterparts as needed to drive priorities forward and close open issues as necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative
  • Project management of upstream development for given products, ensuring all relevant and necessary items are handled prior to major milestones
  • Create a compelling product concept that capitalizes on macro trends & unmet customer needs by incorporating Nissan Brand intention Vehicle expression Strategic advantage Overall future competitiveness
  • Assist in driving of primary research to extract focused customer insights to impact future product
Minimum Qualifications

The following qualification statements reflect the minimum skills and abilities required of the qualified applicant.

1) Job Knowledge and Skill:
  • Must be proficient at data-driven analysis and insight identification
  • Strong understanding of the total Product Planning lifecycle
  • Critical thinking skills and problem-solving aptitude
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision, work toward objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, negotiating, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage complex subject matter & multiple projects at the same time

2) Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Work must include a broad base of analytical aptitude in utilizing historical, statistical, and empirical data
3) Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience
4) Computer Skills:
  • Advanced computer knowledge of programs such as word processors, spreadsheets, and other PC applications. (tables & charts, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUM & IF functions), mTAB 5)
Preferred qualifications:
  • Strong preference for global PLANNING or MARKETING experience (in a working relationship or direct capacity) in Zero Emissions domain
  • Strong business acumen
  • Demonstrated success working in cross-functional and cross-cultural environments through the product development process
  • Education in Psychology, sociology, anthropology, business, economics, or a technical emphasis
